- Japan: Apple Pay and Google Pay are gradually accepted in large stores and public transport, but cash is still essential in rural areas.
- China: Alipay and WeChat Pay dominate daily transactions, from taxis to street food. Some international cards can now be linked to these apps, but check compatibility before your trip.
Your health and safety are paramount to Three Bears Travel. Some of our itineraries include difficult conditions which can make physical activities challenging. You should be in reasonably good health and be able to participate in all activities unaided. We recommend you see your doctor at least six weeks prior to travel for advice and to allow time for any necessary vaccinations. Please remember to take your itinerary with you.

We have a 24/7 emergency response system. In the event of a medical complication, our local team will immediately coordinate with the partnered hospital to arrange timely treatment and provide professional guidance. We will also assist you in handling relevant procedures in accordance with the terms of your travel insurance policy, including supporting the application for medical transfer if required.

For renowned hospitals like Shanghai Ruijin Hospital and Peking Union Medical College Hospital, professional international patient service teams are available to provide English support. For other partner hospitals such as Shanghai Medical University Hospital, Three Bears will assign a dedicated local coordinator and professional medical interpreter to accompany you throughout consultations, treatments and follow-ups, ensuring smooth and accurate communication at all times.

- Register your cards with your bank to avoid fraud alerts.
- Download Alipay or WeChat Pay if visiting China and link your card.
- Always check exchange rates and fees before converting large sums of money.
Our service does not end when you leave China. We will provide you with detailed medical reports in both Chinese and English, summarizing your diagnosis, treatment process and follow-up recommendations. After you return to Australia, our team will continue to provide remote support throughout your recovery period—we will answer any questions you may have about your treatment or recovery, and assist you with relevant health management matters as needed.
- Japan: Visa, Mastercard, and JCB are widely accepted in urban areas. ATMs at post offices, 7-Eleven stores, and major banks usually accept international cards.
- China: UnionPay is the most common network. Visa and Mastercard are accepted in major hotels, malls, and international stores, but not everywhere. Carrying cash or using mobile payments is recommended for convenience.
