Travel FAQS
We will always try to accommodate special requests. Please inform us at the time of booking if you have medical needs, dietary requirements, mobility concerns or other important details.
- Japan: Airports, banks, and post offices are the safest places. Avoid unofficial money changers.
- China: Use banks, official hotel exchanges, or airport counters. Avoid street exchangers to prevent scams.
Group tours consist of travellers who have booked the same itinerary on the same departure date. Minimum traveller requirements, where applicable, are listed on each tour page.
Dress code is generally casual. When visiting religious sites, clothing covering arms and legs may be required. Smart casual is recommended for evenings. A packing list will be included in your final documentation.
For group tours, your spot is confirmed once we receive your deposit.
For private tours, short stays, extensions or additional nights, confirmation typically takes 3–10 days depending on the destination and local holidays.
After confirmation, we will send an updated invoice showing your deposit. Please ensure your name matches your passport exactly. Forms can also be accessed on our website.
- ATM withdrawals: Japan and China may charge international card fees. Check with your bank before traveling.
- Mobile payments: Linking an international card may incur foreign transaction fees.
- Cash declaration limits: Japan: over ¥1,000,000 must be declared. China: over CNY 20,000 must be declared.
Most travellers come from Australia, New Zealand and the UK, though occasionally English-speaking guests from other countries join our tours.
- Japan: Visa, Mastercard, and JCB are widely accepted in urban areas. ATMs at post offices, 7-Eleven stores, and major banks usually accept international cards.
- China: UnionPay is the most common network. Visa and Mastercard are accepted in major hotels, malls, and international stores, but not everywhere. Carrying cash or using mobile payments is recommended for convenience.
